Hi! I’m Jaquie, and I’m a qualified Physiotherapist. Thanks for viewing my profile.

Jaquie is the owner of Physionorth allied health clinic in Townsville. She is also a Connect Therapy practitioner. Jaquie has a degree in Sport and Exercise Science from James Cook University and completed her Masters in Physiotherapy at Curtin University at the start of 2006. After graduating, Jaquie moved back to her hometown, Townsville, and began her career as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist.

Jaquie did gymnastics for ten years, was level 10 regional champion in 1998, and made the Queensland team for level 8 and 10 in 1997 and 1998. Jaquie dislocated her elbow before state titles in 1998 which lead to her retiring from gymnastics after national titles that year. After completing her gymnastics career she took up cheerleading and dance for fitness.

Jaquie has a special interest in treating low back and neck and pelvis pain, dance and gymnastics injuries, pregnancy related pain and general musculoskeletal injuries. She has completed post-graduate studies in the Sports Thorax (LJ Lee), the TMJ (Mark Latimer), pilates (DMA), dry needling (musculoskeletal acupuncture), the shoulder (Lyn Watson), sacro-iliac joint (Barbara Hungerford), low back (Peter O’Sullivan), as well as current taping techniques (Craig Allingham). Jaquie also completed a certificate in orthopaedic manual therapy in 2010 and won the Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in 2012 and the Phillip Leong Bursary in 2009.

In 2015 Jaquie spent the year completing her Connect Therapy Qualification with LJ Lee International. The connect therapy approach expanded on Jaquie's thoracic ring course to cover the whole body. Connect therapy is about finding a person's 'driver' or the source of their pain rather than just treating the painful area. For example a person may be suffering from hip pain due to dysfunction in one of their feet. Therefore in order to stop their hip pain, the dysfunction in their foot must first be addressed or they will continue to have the same problem or only get temporary relief from treatment.

Jaquie loves getting patients back doing the activities they love pain-free! Outside of Physionorth Jaquie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, dancing brazillian samba and doing yoga and pilates, playing with her dogs (Sofie and Indy) and socialising with friends.

If you would like to make a booking to improve your wellness, I’d love to see you!
